Tip of the week
How often do you use the word ‘should?
Whenever we say something like ‘I really should do….’ It implies that it’s something that we don’t really want to do- or that perhaps we feel someone else wants us to do it. It also implies we don’t have a lot of choice in the matter. Next time you catch yourself- or someone else- using the word ‘should’, try replacing it with ‘COULD’ instead. This immediately gives you the element of choice. Feels a lot better doesn’t it?
Staff Commitment
Here at Neal’s Yard Remedies we've each decided to make a positive change in 2008.
See what were commited to and how we're doing it...
It’s already three months into the New Year and I wish I could say it’s gone slowly (with my resolution) but as always it’s flown by in a whirlwind! I think it’s in my genes that I always have to be on the go. I have made some positive changes including more ‘Me’ time and to say ‘no’ to people if I am too busy. I also go to Yoga every Friday after work and it’s amazing how just a one-hour class can make a big switch between my working week and my weekend.
To give me a boost of relaxation I went along to have a Thai Yoga Massage with Michael at our Foubert’s place store. It was a full body treatment, which was tailored specifically to my requirements and went form feet to head using stretching, acupressure and various kneading techniques. After an hour and a half I felt rejuvenated and very relaxed (like a weight had be taken off my shoulder!). Michael mentioned that I hold a lot of tension in my body and that deep tissue work or massage using firm pressure would be beneficial to reduce my stress levels. I will therefore make it my new resolution to have regular massage with Michael whether it is Thai Yoga or the chair massage (which is also available at our Fouberts Store).
